Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel
The Oriental sits directly on the harbor, and sports a beautiful view of the sea and the Kobe skyline. It’s very near to downtown Sannomiya, but a little further away from the trains. This classic Kobe hotel gets visitors because of its legendary status, architecture and visual prominence in the city. Plus, if you’re a fan of getting out early or late for a bit of exercise, there are plenty of opportunities for running and in-park exercise all nearby. The Meriken Park hotel is recommended by over 90% of guests who stay there, it has an easy cancel policy, and of course, has free wifi in all rooms. Agoda Rating: 8.7 stars as of March 7, 2021. The Meriken has English speaking staff.

The newly build Royal Park Canvas, rests smack in the middle of downtown Kobe. The design in this hotel is particularly modern and beautiful, with nice rich blue and black hues. Wifi is complimentary in all rooms and given its proximity to the main JR, Hanshin, and Hankyu stations, is perfect for jumping around and outside the city. Agoda Rating: 9.0 stars as of March 7, 2021. The Royal Park has English speaking staff.
Kobe Plaza Hotel West
Kobe Plaza West is another of Kobe’s newer hotel residents, have been built in 2019. The property is on the main pedestrian-only Motomachi shopping street filled with restaurants, neat little shops, food vendors, drug stores… everything really. Kobe Luminous Hotel Sannomiya
If you choose any Kobe hotel property in Sannomiya, it means you’ll be very close to all the major and minor train lines. Luminous, is even closer than most at about 100 meters. It’s also close to Kobe’s Chinatown, and the Sannomiya Center Gai. Kobe Luminous is a fairly large hotel, so that means you’ll have a lot of rooms to choose from—35 in all at this property. Wifi is included in all rooms, and breakfast is included free with some accommodations. The hotel also offers a strong cancellation policy. Agoda Rating: 8.5 stars as of March 7, 2021. Hotel Monte Hermana Kobe Amalie
The lovely, and stately Monte Hermana is located just behind the old Tokyu Hands building, a block up from the Sannomiya Center Gai. Staying here puts you just around the bend from the famous Ikuta shrine, and a block from Starbucks, which, believe it or not, are not everywhere in Kobe! Free wifi in every room, and free breakfast for most bookings are standard. Both western and Japanese food are provided for breakfast, and just outside your door is a world of izakaya and other kinds of dining establishments. If you’re in the mood for Kobe beef. The men and women lining the street at night will certainly help you find a place! Agoda Rating: 8.7 stars as of March 7, 2021. Hotel Monterey has English speaking staff.
Hotel Monterey Kobe
The gorgeously decorated and stately Hotel Monterey lies a bit south of the louder parts of Sannomiya proving a little bit of respite from the action, while still very close to it. Its’s within a few minutes walking distance to all the major train lines in and around Sannomiya, but is closest to the West Exit of the Subway. If you’re a fan of Starbucks and shrines, you’re directly across the street from a Starbucks, and stone’s throw from one of Japan’s oldest Shinto Shrines, Ikuta. This part of Sannomiya is quite lively at night, so if you’re looking to avoid the crowds, you might want to look elsewhere. If you want to be right in the middle of things, it’ll be perfect for you. Of course, free wifi in all rooms, and if you’re a bit stressed out after a rather long business day there is… a spa! Agoda Rating: 8.7 stars as of March 7, 2021. “A bit of old colonial heritage”
“The Oriental is really well located, close to the CBD and close to the bat foreshore. It has a long history back to the British period and carries this theme well. It have 4 restaurants, an excellent bar and breakfast now caters fro Western tastes much better than it did a few years ago. Rooms as large and very well appointed . The entire place is spotless as you would expect and service is excellent without being clingy. My third stay at the Oriental and a doubt it will be my last.”
“Central location amazing price”
“A short throw from the bus stop from Kansai Airport, next to the main station to everywhere – both the JR and the subway – walking distance to the entertainment, food and shopping areas – the hotel on a quiet corner next to the train station – AEON supermarket below- Mint shopping centre – the Lawson and 7 eleven nearby and the 24 hours eateries the street behind – fast WiFi, good cooking and heating system, functional nice toilet and shower (jap style) and coin operated laundry on 5th floor – value for money if first or repeat stay in Kobe.”
“Very good breakfast”
“We stayed a night in September 2019, enroute to Arima Onsen. The hotel is smallish but very modern, along a busy street that leads conveniently to shopping streets down the road and not far to Daimaru. The parking lot though, was 2 blocks down the road and very limited so that might be a bit inconvenient. It would be best to send the hotel a message beforehand to block a lot for you, which was what they kindly did for us. The room fit 3 adults and while not big, was very modern and comfortable. The hotel also has a small communcal bath so if you wish to relax in some steaming non-onsen waters, you can do so there. It was pretty packed though when we went there in the evening after dinner. What has us raving though, was the breakfast! They had one of the best croissants ever and the array of western and Japanese dishes really impressed! While the dining area was not big, glass windows let natural light in and created a bright and cheery ambience in the day. While not cheap, it is highly recommended to get the package that includes breakfast.”
“Nice location!”
“The hotel locates at a shopping street, very good for tourists, and it is nearby China town and many restaurants, but not noisy at all!”
